Hello.
Howdy.
Namascaram.

My name is Sunitha Konatham, and I am a Telugu-American Aggie (whoop!) from Austin, Texas who is passionate about the intersection of medicine and humanities. I love exploring how health and the arts can influence one another, and use the written word to bridge the gap between these two worlds.

My Story

I’m Sunitha Konatham. I’m a writer, editor, and medical student who believes stories shape how we understand ourselves, each other, and the world around us.

My writing spans many forms and audiences. I work in personal narrative, long-form storytelling, editing, digital content, and collaborative projects, helping individuals and organizations communicate with clarity and care. Over the years, I have written and edited blogs, essays, interviews, web copy, educational content, social media, and reflective pieces. Whether the work is creative, professional, or deeply personal, I’m drawn to writing that feels honest and grounded rather than performative.

A significant part of my background includes work in human trafficking prevention and education. Those experiences shaped how I listen and how I write, teaching me to hold complexity, move with care, and respect stories that cannot be rushed or simplified. That perspective carries through everything I do, from memoir and ghostwriting to editing, interviews, and reflective writing.

Alongside my writing life, I am training to become a family medicine physician. Medicine has deepened my understanding of narrative in another way. I see daily how stories are often fragmented or reduced to summaries. Writing, for me, is a way of restoring coherence and dignity, whether I am working with a patient’s history, a personal essay, or a professional project.

This website, For This Very Moment, is both my personal blog and a collection of my writing for other platforms. The name is an ode to Esther 4:14, and a reminder to be present and fully immersed in where I am. It reflects my desire to pay attention to the moments that shape us, even when they feel small or ordinary. My hope is that through this space, you will be able to share in some of these moments with me.
